Ute M. Griffie, was born on November 5, 1952, to Rolf and Anna Kohler, in Zweibrücken Germany. She departed from this life on February 14, 2026. She was married to James Griffie on October 2, 1974, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. To this union Fabienne Helen Griffie was born. They were married for 52 years.
Ute loved helping people and worked as an RN in hospitals all over the world. Her husband, James, was in the Air Force and was stationed on various bases. She worked in Zell, Germany, Kaiserslautern, Germany, Plattsburgh, New York, Las Vegas, Nevada, Brandon, Florida, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Key West, Florida and Lifecare Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She also loved children and worked at Sunshine Day Care in Wilkinsburg where Angie Glaze was the director.
She also loved dancing to disco music from the 70’s and 80’s. As well as knitting, crocheting, arts and crafts, cooking and baking German food. She would also make zucchini bread, pea soup and German potato salad.
Ute accepted Christ as her Savior and lived through the challenges of Parkinson Disease and Dementia. She was lovingly cared for by her husband, Jim and daughter Fabienne.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband James Griffie, daughter, Fabienne Griffie, siblings; Fredreka, Sabina & Horst Kohler of Germany, sister-in-law Mary (Karl) Kilcrease of Pittsburgh, brother -in-law Leroy Griffie of Tacoma Washington and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
